Career Profile: Session MusicianDate: Mon, 26. April 2010 05:49:02
pSession musician work can be a great gig for a musician. You get to play with a lot of different artist, maybe even dabbling in a lot of different genres, and you're protected from a lot of the financial risk of actually being in the band (of course, with a big hit, that can cut both ways - but session work is a good way to make some reliable money, even while you're trying to launch your own solo/band career). Session musicians spend a lot of time in studios, but they often get to go out on the road, too. Learn more about working as a session musician:/p

Which Music Career Is Right for You?Date: Wed, 23. March 2011 08:11:06
I know, I know - you just want to work in music, and you don't care what the job is. The thing is, once you get your first music job, you'll find out pretty quickly that that is not exactly true. As much as you love music and want to work with it every day, not every job in the industry is going to be the best fit for your skills and goals. While every bit of experience is valuable - even if it is gleaned through working at a job you end up not loving - it is also a good idea to get a more focused idea of where you think you would thrive in the music biz. It will help you narrow your job search, and when you can talk specifically about why you want a certain job, you'll impress the people doing the hiring a lot more.
So, which job is right for you? Check out these career profiles and find your fit.
